Challenge

Severe loss circulation has occurred into unconsolidated sandstone below 4000′
TVD. The zone was 2000′ thick and the BHCT 125 F. Three minor zones and one
major zone were identified. Two 28 bbl Poly Plug pills were mixed and pumped.
After the first pill was spotted, circulation was immediately regained. The pill was
waited on for 4 hrs. The operator then W/R to bottom. Drilling resumed with full
returns. After drilling another 10’ circulation was lost. The second pill was
squeezed into the formation and was waited on for 3 hours.

Results

Circulation was established with 100% returns and drilling
resumed without further incident.
