Challenge

The objective was to seal micro annular gas migration. To achieve this objective,
two seperate treatments were required. The first (lower plug)Liquid Bridge Plug®
was pumped in the 9-7/8″ X 13-5/8″ window from 1,485′ to 1,500′ and the upper
plug was pumped in the 13-5/8″ X 20″ window @ 1,342′. Prior to pumping the
Liquid Bridge Plug®, the well was circulated clean with seawater to remove any old
16.5 lb/gal WBM. Sand (850 lbs) was dump bailed to create a 15′ bottom from the
CIBP to the bottom of the 9-7/8″ X 13-5/8″ window. The 7 bbl slurry of Liquid Bridge
Plug® was circulated down and the tension packer set @ 800′, 600 psi was held
and the well was monitored for 24 hours. Pressure was released and no bubbles
were observed. Job design for the second plug required an 8′ section to be milled
in the 13-5/8″ X 20″ casings. A 12 bbl batch of Liquid Bridge Plug® weighted to
16.0 lb/gal was circulated down the milled section and a tension packer set, 800
psi was held and the well observed for 48 hours.

Results

USING LIQUID BRIDGE PLUG® SAVED THE OPERATOR FROM
HAVING TO REMOVE ANY OTHER CASING STRINGS TO SET AN
INFLATABLE PACKER.
